Supporters of Katonte Healthcare Programme
There are three arms to our fund-raising strategy.
- Access to Corporate Social Responsibility funds especially from Zambian Companies and International Companies active in Zambia;
- Access to Donor Funds from bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors; and
- Support from friends and individuals who wish to contribute to the cause of poor populations in far-flung rural Zambia.
Initially we are focussing our efforts on strands 1 and 3 above. It is likely we will be more successful with donor funds once we have developed a track record.
On strand 1 we have approached a number of Companies and received generally positive responses, but as yet no direct funding support. As soon as we obtain any commitments we will post the information here.
On strand three we are beginning to have some success. In particular Mr. Will Paxton is running the Victoria Falls Marathon on June 27th, and agreed to run on behalf of Katonte. (If you watch on TV be sure to look out for the Katonte emblem on his shirt!)
Our individual supporters so far – since 20th May and as of 30th May 2015 – most of them encouraged by Will’s effort, are as follows:
- Fatima Bashr
- Amadou MBengue
- Steve Bertram
- Karen Gregory
- Rex Oratokhai
- Shaun Daly
- Robert Liebenthal
- Heather Paxton
In addition we have received Waneta Empowerment – a Zambian NGO that sources health equipment in the UK – has donated four hospital beds (one is a maternity delivery bed) for use in the Katonte Clinic when it opens (we hope in August).
A VERY BIG THANK YOU to all our supporters and followers, whether financial or in spirit.
